Dr. Nattaphorn Buayam holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford and is a Research Fellow at the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI). Her work focuses on the electrification of transportation systems, with a particular emphasis on using total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis to understand EV adoption, product–market fit, and consumer needs across different vehicle segments.

She works at the intersection of technology, economics, environmental policy, and industrial development, covering electric two-wheelers, passenger vehicles, and trucks, as well as end-of-life management of batteries and vehicles. Her recent work supports the automotive and electrical–electronics industries in navigating market adoption challenges, regulatory transitions, and sustainable supply-chain development, with a focus on ecosystem building, localization, and long-term industrial competitiveness in the ASEAN region.
